I used to have to give speeches to large crowds and of course I got the heebie jeebies, butterflies and all that.
So, some things I learned to do were things like, getting plenty of sleep the night before. Practice your speech, and do not learn it verbatim, just memorize the bullet points. IT's easier to remember and flows more freely, and you are less likely to mess up or stumble when you are only keeping track of the main points and not every single sentence you will speak.
Before you go do the speach, rehearse it one time, don't go over it a million times, you'll only tax your mind and nerves. Drink plenty of water to avoid cotton mouth (but not so much you will have to go pee in your speech). Do a few jumping jacks or jog in place or something to use up some of that nervous energy, get the blood flowing and yourself hyped up, that usually helps me avoid nervous issues like butterflies and stuff.
Make sure you have the speech down. Then take a double shot of scotch ten minutes before. Don't look at any particular face, all you see is a faceless crowd. Good luck.
The six Ps: proper preparation and practice prevents poor performance. Forget about the audience, and just do what you have to do. Trust me, you'll do fine.

beta blockers. i have to take them before i give speeches because i get nervous. idk why, because im completely confident in everyday conversation, and im very good at writing so the speeches dont suck or anything. they do help a lot though.
When you get up there, picture everyone naked; and only look two or three people you know and support you in the eye; dont stand like a tree, move around so people dont get bored with your subject but dont do nervous hand gestures, if you feel yourself getting nervous or shaky, look at someone whos smiling or humerous in personality or use some humor to break the ice.
just close your eyes and breath.
clear your head of all your fears.
and while you are reading remember that it is not a race just read and breath properly and have fun.
Seriously, sex or masterbating right before will calm you more than you can imagine.
ive actualy hade a classmate faint because of nervs. so i alwasy take a few deep breathes... know your sunject is a good plan as well... ive always been pretty good at it so, im not sure, just the only thing i can never make eye contact it makes me laugh... so... it would be beter to maybe look between people when you are up there... good luck!
