  • Eat some white rice before you go to bed.
  • drink some camomile. ive heard of people smoking green tea to put them to sleep, sounds kinda dodgy tho haha
  • I wish I could tell you. I've suffered from it for years myself. I've tried everything talked about or written about and it doesn't work for me. If you find something that works; will you let me know?! I'll try anything I haven't before!
  • OMG i do too!!! i was awake for 3 days, but managed to get 6 hrs sleep last night. try drinking wine! doesnt always work but on the odd occasion its worth it. only a couple of glasses mind, not enough to make you paraletic x x
  • hit the gym or get a lot more exercise(running, biking and/or swimming. You can do these daily without any ill effects), you will feel more awake right after, this is caused by the adrenaline rush, and as you excert yourself you will find you need more rest to fulfill your energy needs(more sleep is needed). not to mention your body will greatly improve in both looks and performance.
  • At 6 am I would just go ahead and get up and start my day.
  • write in a diary before you go to bed, write lists of everything that you need to think about and then put it away. Also try not to sleep in the same room as computer/tv and other distractions. Healthy diet and excercise will help too. And routines are always good, especially ones revolved around the sun- if you get up with the sun and go to bed earlier your body will naturally become more tired as the day comes to an end. But the diary thing has worked for me!
  • My friend occasionally has the same problem and he swears that drinking a glass of warm milk helps him get to sleep. Personally I found that after one or two glasses of RED wine, I get really cosy and sleepy. I also tend to have really a good sleep on red wine... Try analyzing what you do when you can't get to sleep. Well, don't analyze evertime (otherwise you won't sleep lol). Do you think about problems or are your worried about something? I find that when it's really silent, I have trouble falling asleep. I play my iPod, but make sure the playlist doesn't repeat itself so the music will stop after 30 minutes or so. Have you seen a specialist yet? Let us know how you go!
  • Yes. Develop a regular schedule and stick to it. You have to train your body to sleep at a certain time. If you constantly change that time, your body gets confused. Take natural melatonin when you lay down to sleep. Melatonin is a substance that your body produces naturally when you close your eyes in a dark room that makes you feel relaxed and sleepy. Each year your body produces less and less of it. Sleep in a dark room to stimulate the most natural melatonin. Don't have a tv or other distractions in your room. If you need it, sleep with eye mask and/or ear plugs. Get up at the same time even if you did not sleep well that night. This is part of the training. You will be tired that day, but your body will be ready to sleep at the regular time that night. Hope that helps.
