I need to find a place that is pretty much isolated where I can practice my recall with my dog. Any ideas? Also, are there dog socials for adult dogs where a professional trainer oversees the session?

Out door Tennis courts that have a gate that you can close can be helpful. Then you can let the dog off lead with out worry of it getting loose and possibly taking off after something. Just be sure to clean up any doggie messes, if they should happen.

Also, if you can't find a court, where people won't get mad if you work with your dog there, you could get a super long lead or rope, one that is light but strong and put your dog on that. That way he has freedom but can't totally escape from you. Let him get busy snooping around and realizing that he has freedom and then begin your recall practice.

You do know that there are some breeds that can never be completely trusted off leash. Northern breeds like Huskies and many of the Hound breeds fall into this category.

    Good luck.
