AB has it's own style of justice which seldom mirrors the principles on which our great country was founded. Whether it is justice or not is in the eye of the beholder.
What I DO know is that I adore her. She has her moments, and we've talked about that. So, it isn't like she is completely in the dark about rules and regs. If I know her, whatever landed her in the clink, she felt it was worth it. +5

Are you serious? AB needs to have more people on here like her, not these dipsh*ts that go around harrassing people just to be mean. She speaks her mind, has fun, and is willing to call a spade a spade. These are some of the reasons I really like her on here. Give her a hug from me!

My, My My Sharona is one of the most INOFFENSIVE people on AB, and I want to be just like her, if and when I ever grow up.
I've never known her or Jen-Jen to do anything even remotely "objectionable," and she's certainly never said anything to me (or about me) that has caused me any problems, whatsoever.
She's a very nice person with compassion and sympathy for others, and a strong sense of what's right and wrong.
She also has an excellent sense of humor and laughs at almost all of my idiotic jokes, because she feels sorry for me.
If she ran for President, she'd get MY vote, for sure.
I'd say the Admins "screwed up," Big Time, and I hope they will come to their senses and see the error of their ways, very soon. This just isn't right, at all.

Personally, I don't think Sharona is a bad person, if it's the "SHARONA" that I'm thinking of.
But I would like to point out a few things:
First of all, none of us are privy to these actions, or the reasons behind them. (No, I'm not asking for any explanation.) They are private between AB and the individual involved.
With that in mind, I cannot say whether or not any particular person being PB'd was "just" or not.
I understand that such actions can bring about some angst. There may have been some level of frustration and other emotional waves prior to being Penalty Boxed, as well.
But when all is said and done, you, I, and everybody else need to realize a few things:
1. Being PB'd, though maybe emotionally painful, DOESN'T affect one's ability to take care of business in the real world.
2. All the people who interact with a PB'd person, like your Mom, KNOW what kind of a person she's like normally. So there is no reputation damage with them to worry about.
3. Everybody else who DOESN'T know your Mom...well, likely they would never know she had ever been PB'd, except for questions like this. So this wouldn't normally color their opinion of her anyway.
4. And, for the few other people who were involved with a person who was PB'd...if they were instigators, the rest of us will see through them anyway. So bugger 'em!
I hate to say this, and PLEASE don't take it personally: But it's kind of unfair to ask "Is this justice?" We cannot know, because we aren't even privy to the knowledge that anyone is PB'd, much less why they are PB'd and all the circumstances behind it.
I take the view that anyone out here in Answerbagland establishes their personal reputation by the trail of footprints they leave behind during their trek here.
That trail tells me about that person. Every post they make, be it question, answer, or comment, tells me a little bit more about them.
If that trail has taken the high road, then I know the kind of person they are projecting here is good. If they are hit hard by trolls, I could care less. If someone starts bashing their character with their posts, I could care less. If they take a short vacation in the Penalty Box, I could care less.
Why? Because their CHARACTER is already established.
So don't worry about it! And tell your Mom what I said, too. It's important for her to know that her friends and aquaintences here on AB understand who she is by her character. And that we await her return!

Sharona? She is reasonably excellent. I've never encountered an answer or question from her that I felt was unfair.
As someone here already said, AB has it's own style of justice, and it often isn't justice at all, in my opinion.

We have no clue why she was PBed. She should have received an email explaining. If not, she should ask the admins. And, if she feels the "sentence" is too harsh, she should ask for it to be reduced.
BUT, if she said something she shouldn't have (against the TOU, which is the reason for the majority of the PBings), then she probably knows it.
I like Sharona. I never understand when nice people get drawn into arguments and get PBed, but it DOES happen. I know of at least three GOOD people who are no longer here because they slipped, either early in their career, or late. ALL were long-time members who were banned. One was because of using a sockpuppet (at least that was the reason given) to circumvent a PBing VERY early in their career. The other two that I know of were because they (supposedly) started attacking one person because of their beliefs. Other than that, I don't know. AB does not tell the world about the PBing. That is for the individual, if they wish to, as email or even a question, as long as it's not a question about specific details.
We have no idea what happened, so can't tell you if it's "justice". Did you ask her what she was supposed to have done?

ask your mom to write an email to staff and explain why she is in the penalty box. have your mother explain why she wont be in the penalty box again if they let her out. she could just forget it and start another account. or she could forget this site and get a real life.

I have read some of the comments on here and remember a couple of ABer's that have gotten life time bans, or close to it. Remember Jodie44 and that last one Dreanna? You just never know what or who is "a real nice person". I am not saying this person that is referred to here isn't a nice and genuine person. But just think about it. We are on the internet. Hell! I might be some nut case serial killer.

I have known your mom to be most adamant in defending members who have had wrongs committed to them on this sight, it wouldn't surprise me to hear she got in trouble from really ripping someone down who deserved it. She's more then cool in my books, she's great.

Okay. I'll tell her. She got PB'd at a perfect time provided she is allowed back. I don't think she could have done anything to warrant being out for good. I think she probably swore or something and I read a lot of that here. You know she is good at ticking people off that she percieves deserve it. So, she was obviously in the wrong but also in the dark as to what is up next. Anyway she is studying for a new job and really cannot be on here this week anyway. Ironic, no? If she flunks the test at the end of this week she is out of a job and that would kill her.
