Well...no not legally...they should just do it.
And if they dont want to, they dont have to they are the parents and they know best.
It would've helped me a lot sooner, but I don't know that it could be made a legal requirement.
Let's just hope that the stigma fades and each new generation's parents can see the wisdom in being open. My sisters and I are already wonderfully blunt about the bipolar conditions in and affecting our lives! And I can GUARANTEE you that it's been for the better for my two nieces.
No. Parents responsibilities to care and provide for their children. Parents have not duty to tell children anything they wish not to.

As for "legally" being forced to tell your children, the best judgement is left to the parents until you turn 18, so that would never happen.
And the condition of a patient is protected by the Doctor Patient confidentiality act. So, to answer your question, absolutely not.
