+5 i used to be a smoker so i am honest from the get go. i don't think smoking should be banned. if someone is willing to put their life on the line for me and they are only wanting to do something that is legal, then more power to them.

Sure, lets tell the people who are getting shot at for your freedom, that he cant have his everyday vice which is completely normal and legal.

NO!! Having been in the military,I am aware of the endless regulations the military has to control a soldier's military/private life, believe me,they do not need to add any more!!

No. If they get a chance to relax and have a smoke..let 'em. They put their lives on the line every day...the dangers of smoking is pretty insignificant. Certain areas..sure. The military as a whole, absolutely not.

I'm not at all concerned that those serving in the military may smoke. It's a legal activity. I'm so sick of the interference by some into the lives of others.

Oh good grief. For putting their butts on the line and dodging automatic gun fire, let them smoke as much as they friggen want.

Yep! Because I'm sure that all of the non-smokers in the military want a guy going through nicotine withdrawal watching their backs!!

Let them have their smokes for crying out loud.

I think it's fine if they smoke as long as they are in good shape (for their own safety)

No. They may have their smoke free buildings and facilities, but not a ban against military personnel smoking. That would restrict them more than their civilian brothers and sisters.

Yaeh, order them to walk around in DU dust from the bulletcoats, then forbid them to smoke. It makes perfect sense. ;-))

Just for safetys sake I will point out the abowe is irony.

PS: It is interesting to note the nr of people who see smoking as a reward, Something they have earned the right to by putting their lives on the line.
