The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has been misunderstood by many people. We teach that Jesus Christ did progress (see Luke 2:52 and Doctrine and Covenants 93:13). We do teach that God the Father has a body of flesh and bone. Think about this: If it's better to be a spirit rather than to have a body, then why was Jesus resurrected? Elder Robert D. Hales pointed out that sometimes our doctrines makes us unpopular. We can't compromise or change the doctrine. We are still Christians, even if others disagree with us.

We are well aware, as you have suggested. But we cannot help what we have received from God, about Himself. I suppose if some are offended at our doctrines, it is their problem not ours. We do not intend to change our doctrine to please others. We acknowledge their discomfort and pray for them. But I can assure you, your doctrines are just as astounding to us as ours are to you. Our doctrines, as I said, come from God through Christ, they are what they are. To us it is easier to believe in something we can picture in our mind, than to believe in something that has no body, or form or substance, of which we cannot even imagine. Our God is the result of revelation through a Prophet of God. Their God is the result of men concocting a concept without the aide of the Bible. Should we really be concerned, if they do not accept our God? ...Later
