Help answer this question below.
Most of the time, both my hands are at 6.
I hardly drive on highways+3
That depends what I am doing..
On the way to work = 9 to 5
Going to lunch = 12:00
Listening to music by Chicago = 25 or 6 to 4
Looking for something = 4:11
I prefer left hand at 7 and right hand fiddling with the radio :-)
90% of the time I am at 8 - 4 but I change around to avoid pains.
The only thing I avoid is driving one handed. People don't realise the danger they put themselves in, and others, especially hanging one hand over the top of the wheel. Just imagine driving one handed and hitting an obstacle, a curb, a stone or having a sudden blow out.
Anyway, it suits some people so ....!
When I learned to drive we were told the correct position was "ten to 2," but since steering wheels generally have air bags in them now, the safety recommendations were changed to the "quarter to 3" position.

drive one hand
I think you meant 10 and 2. It is controversial these days with some saying 9 and 3, and others saying 8 and 4, or surprisingly even 7 and 5 . Airbags are part of the concern with 10 and 2 as your hands can theoretically be flung 100 mph at your face if you are in a collision, making you quite the heavy hitter.
I keep one hand at 9:52 and the other on the radio.
Only if conditions require a greater level of control like heavy rain or snow. Other than that I even drive with my knees most the time. And I know that chauffeurs, more often than not, drive with one hand at approx 5 o'clock.
I am a one handed driver...it is usually around 20 "a clock"..
I actually do the 11 and 6, my hands go to sleep at 10 and 2.
I use 9 and 3
Most of the time, left hand at 9 o'clock.
[right hand free for other 'tasks'?]
;-)
In the UK it's 10 and 2 but in my case it's usually 10 and my arm on the window (right hand drive). :o)
At 9 and 3. I read that it is safest if the air bag deploys. The old 10 & 2 position could result in 2 broken arms. Thinking of that possiblity, I changed my old habit in about one second!
Well 10and 2 is the correct way but my hands don't stay there I have to admit..
It all depends on my steering wheel drum's. :)
Sometimes yes, often no. How about you, Jen?

No,I think I move them around to different poistions.Sometimes only use 1 hand.
Usually one hand at 12 o'clock. I know this bad news if the air bag goes off, but I still do it. Lazy I guess.
you put your hands at 10 to 2 that is said to b the prober way
I tend to rest my hands on the hub/spokes of the steering wheel and feel the stationary part with my fingertips. I can feel minute movements that way and I seem to be able to drive more steadily.
Now I need to work on staying awake..
Yes, most of the time. When I really want to feel relaxed, I use just my right index finger at 6 o'clock. :) +5
I drive with my feet. (just kidding)! When I'm just doing straight driving, I usually rest my hands on the middle part of the steering wheel.
I keep my hand on 9.and 3 clock.
I drive with hands at 12 and 3.

I find it very difficult and uncomfortable driving with both hands, i can only drive well with my left hand and i keep it at the 6 O'clock position. wierd?
No, 10 and 2.
I prefer the 10 and 2 positions.. 11 is too far north
Nope I sure don't. :-) invis. +5
