OH HELL NO....sponges are just about the MOST UNSANITARY things you can use anywhere; shower or kitchen!! STOP PLEASE!! good 'ol washcloth for me but I do like those nylon net things; BUT EVEN THOSE YOU MUST THOROUGHLY RINSE OUT....as they can also be bad, germ-wise if not properly taken care of......that is, rinse rinse rinse in hot hot water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me? use one of those? never. They are for my pets to clean me with though.

6-7-2017 I used to use a sponge, until I read an article on the kinds of mold that grow in them. A sponge or pouf stays good for maybe two weeks, and then you have to either boil it or throw it out. I looked at mine and there were stringy things growing on the soapy side. I threw it out.
