What (if any) are the consequences, by law, for a 17 year old going out with a 18 year old? the father of the 17 year old was harassing my friend (the 18 year old) about it. what is the best solution in the case of the 18 year old?

There really is not a inforcable law with the age difference unless he rapes her...which regardless of age thats punishable. I would look up the laws for your state. Ours is a 3 years difference is legal.

Lets face it, 17 is still a minor and 18 is an adult.

I think your dad is looking out for your best interest, since you are a minor. he is correct in doing so.

The best solution?.........time

The 18 year old should wait until the 17 year old turns 18.

Then, both will have to answer to their own convictions, as adults.

There is nothing wrong with dating an 18 year old even if you have sex with them it would be considered by the police as constantual sex

Not a damn thing, but tell your friend he should stay away from the girl, no need for trouble with the father, it is not worth it, far to many fish in the sea, to get fucke@ up over a girl!!!!!!
