When MJ was one of Jehovah's Witnesses he did not celebrate birthdays. When he abandoned the faith I am sure he started to celebrate birthdays. I doubt that this really brought him much happiness in his tormented life. Since Michael is sleeping in death, he isn't hearing anything any longer.
