This enables companies to use employees in more of a "crossover" capacity and makes IT departments less important. If I were in your husband's position, I would focus a job search more on the "health and wellness" part with secondary emphasis on his IT skills. Most health service organizations are tightly budgeted. His background should make him an ideal canidate for an administrative position in a hospital, nursing home, rehabilitation center and the like, because his potential usefulness would span departments. He would also be more likely to find open positions in these other areas.
