Although YARNLADY's response is quite sufficient, I'd like to add that "negative" and "positive" energy (or "white" and "black" magic) are all in the eyes of the beholder/caster. Energy and magic are neutral. It'd be like saying good or bad electricity. It is all how the energy is used or the intent of the caster behind the magic that makes it subjectively "good" or "bad". So, like YARNLADY said, one is not ridding "negative" energy, but instead transforming it into energy that is more conducive to what the caster is trying to accomplish.
The energy is still exactly where it was, but the effect is reversed from negativity to positive. This is done in a manner that is similar to ionizing molecules in the air, by adding or removing a charged particle such an electron.
In fact, the act of ionizing the air is often used to give the illusion that something "magic" has occurred. Stage magicians, fortune tellers, and seances often use this scientific method to "trick" people.

You're reading When you perform a banishing or cleaning of a space prior to casting a magick circle, where does the 'negative' energy go? Does it remain just outside the sphere or does it find a level of positive/negative energy balance someplace else in your house
