Help answer this question below.
There are over 13 million members of record of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Just how padded the number is depends on who you ask and who they think should be included / excluded. If the Church isn't notified of someone's death, they keep the record until the individual would turn 107. Also, some people leave the Church without going through the official name withdrawal process. Finally, it has been argued that only "active" members should be counted, but that opens the can of worms of defining "active" to include military personnel serving in countries without access to LdS worship services.
I think the biggest lie is that the devil isn't real.
For people like yourself with MDS (Mormon Derangement Syndrome) it may be the "biggest lie".
However for most of us, Mormons included, we have other things to worry about.
I don't whether or it is true or not, but it hardly seems like the most important thing in the world. Therefore, it is not the "biggest lie."
I don't think it's in the nature of any Mormon to intentially diminish the numbers of the church in the public eye. If anything we're constantly being accused of padding our numbers.
I always heard the biggest lie had to do with oral sex.
I could be mistaken though.
Church membership stats are open to the public. Of course for privacy they do not list the names. I actually did a study on this topic and used all of the published data. It is very detailed. If you would like a few links to the info let me know and I will compile them for you. :)
u... huh? lie or not i do not know, but biggest lie... certainly not. ie lied through too any general elections.
I'm confused. Is the "lie" that the number is too big or too small?
.
Now if you're referring to ACTIVE Mormons, you're correct, that is a lie as the number is far too large.
.
A more accurate number for ACTIVE Mormons would be in the 3-5-Million range.

It's not even a statement that anyone has ever heard before. Oh! I thought you said MORONS. Nevermind.
There are many more morons than a million, i'm pretty sure of that.
There might have been at one time, but they seem to be dropping away. We'll have to wait and see what the new count is.
Well the "biggest lie" could be easily verified or refuted if the Mormon church opened it's books...
Mormons ? I have houseguests who are mormon. will they be offended if I have a cocktail for dinner tonight ? I know they don't drink.

What do the Mormons do with their fast offering collections really? I was always told things growing up in the church and most were lies.

How do Mormons prove they are Mormons and can go inside a temple? Do they have a secret handshake? Password?

You're reading Is there anyone else out there who believes "the biggest lie" in the world may be that there are only 10 million or so mormons on the planet?

I pay attention to the number of stakes created. To me, that is a better indicator of church growth as well as activity.
