Yes and it also concerned me when the republicans were doing it, of course not as much as now. I believe it was Benjamin Franklin that said it best; "When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic."

There are a lot of things that the libs have done since they took office that concern me.
-
Yes it does! I do remember them pissing and moaning about Bush's spending over a 8 year period. WTF Osamabama has spent more in less than a year, and they love it?!
-
It concerns me more that conservatives left the country in a total melt down, with banks collapsing, businesses closing, people getting laid off, two wars ongoing, and more terrorists targeting the US than ever.
-
Yes, but not any more than the conservatives taking a budget surplus which was putting Social Security and Medicare on solid footing and squandering it, all the while creating the largest budget deficit of record since Ronald Reagan and George the First.
-
What would the conservatives have done had they retained control? They had already started the spend before they handed over control to the liberals. A conservative appointee, Ben Bernanke, is still in charge of the Fed. Would the conservatives have done very mush different? I doubt it. It might have been three and a half times, not four. But either party wousd have Done What It Took.

Yes, very much so. I'm also concerned that they want to proceed with their agenda without reguard for the damage they've done in just eight months. Given the current state of things, the burden of cap and trade and a national health care system would break our economys back. To date however, has either side of the aisle has done anything to really fix the problem or just encourage a silly schoolboy pissing contest? Peyton may have hit on it with his quote from Ben Franklin, "When the people find they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic."

And not a peep from the main stream press, that bothers me more than anything.
-
Yup. But it's for a good reason - to keep the economy going. Hopefully it'll work. . What concerns me much more is the record breaking deficits the concervaitevs leave behind each and every time they've been in office since Regan. And that's just giving tax breaks to the rich people, buying super expensive weapons systems that don't work, and waging wars based in their lies. . That concerns me a lot more.

A $50 Lesson in politics: I recently asked my friends' little girl what she wanted to be when she grows up. She said she wanted to be President of the United States some day. Both of her parents, liberal Democrats, were standing there, so I asked her, 'If you were President what would be the first thing you would do?' She replied, 'I'd give food and houses to all the homeless people.' Her parents beamed with pride. 'Wow...what a worthy goal.' I told her, 'But wait, you don't have to wait until you're President to do that. You can come over to my house and mow the lawn, pull weeds, and sweep my yard, and I'll pay you $50. Then I'll take you over to the grocery store where a homeless guy hangs out, and you can give him the $50 to use for food.' She thought that over for a few seconds, then she looked me straight in the eye and asked, 'Why doesn't the homeless guy just come over and do the yard work, and you can just pay him the $50?' I said, 'Welcome to the Republican Party.' . Her parents still are not speaking to me. *****************************************

Your damn right it does.
-
It terrifies me. We cannot pay off the deficit in 900 years.
-
Nope.
