Have you ever heard a phrase mispronounced, and the mispronounced phrase "sticks" with others? One example is this cute little Korean newlywed, living in a cul-de-sac. She calls it a "Cuddle Sack," and now, so do all of her neighbors.

As a little kid I would read comics, and sometimes in cowboy stories someone would say "no way Jose". As a little boy I thought they were saying "no way Josie" with the J pronounced as it is in jubilee, jamboree etc. (Josie is a girl's name in my country, just explaining in case it doesn't exist in other countries). I know the correct way to say it now of course, but I and others still occasionally use the Josie version.

When my oldest was a little guy, my brother thought it was real funny to tell him to call everyone a "dump truck". And yes, it came out like "dumb f*ck". It was really embarrassing. We'd be in the store, and out of the blue, this little 2 year old would point at someone and say "you dumb f*ck".

Here's another one that drives me nuts:
"The gig is up" -- often spoken as: "the JIG is up".
A gig is an event, job or happening -- a jig is a dance, (or a holding/guiding mechanism).
