Usually, Stacey and Clinton go shopping with the contestant on the second day of shopping, after viewing their progress with their small television set, but in the case of some contestants, those who found shopping terribly difficult on their first day, they will accompany them to their very first store and on. Usually, they go after they see the contestant is doing a poor job on their second day. Always, they shop on the second day, excepting some extremely rare occasions.

Yes, usually on the second day. Its become so routine that its become a cliche on the show. You need to understand that its all set up from the very beginning, so that Stacey and Clinton will come down and shake things up by the second day. Otherwise, it wouldn't make sense that people wouldn't have problems on the first day shopping but would on the second day. And, that the producers of the show do that by manipulating the shoppers to go to the wrong stores where nothing will fit or by ordering the shopper to pick things up that the shopper wouldn't want.
