Do you rely on your AB profile "feedback" section to let you know when people have answered your questions, or left you comments?

• Thanks, Firebrand. I do the same, with my old questions. However, I have found that Feedback does not always issue a notification, so it is best (for me) to take the initiative to re-visit old questions on a regular basis. :-)

• That is true and very difficult now we only get 5 pages of feedback. Even if you are only off one or two days you can lose feedback. When I take 3/4 months off I find that months later I am still finding stuff I should have answered .That is why I put a note on my profile.

• Hi Skeeter. I recently found that I am not always notified. I visited an old question and found additional answers I was never notified of. So I visited another and found something similar. So, how do we really know unless we keep revisiting old questions over and over? No fun. There must be a better way... Thanks +6

• I know. That has happened to me, lots. I felt kind of shitty not answering all those replies. Just another AB glitch I suppose.

• @skeeter: If it is a glitch, they've been doing it since before I started, over two years ago. I think they do that to tell you you have new answers (they only send an email for those they'd put on feedback, too), and assume you will use your comments and ratings to be "drawn back" to the question. When you do, sort by date, and check the latest, every time you're there. That's what I do. ;-)

  And tonight I found a related question where BigDaddyBS says that multiple answers to a single question MAY bring only one notification and we are expected to click on "read all answers" to catch the rest. Here is the Q:

• Thanks, LeopoldClanner. I use it too, but I recently learned that it does not always notify you. I re-visited a question from over a month ago and found it had 5 answers I was never notified of. So, I visited a couple other questions and found the same.

• Somehow I am not surprised, given the number of glitches here on AB. I Have sometimes looked over old questions and have never found answers I haven't been alerted of, but I should still look back over them more often. Thanks!

• @LC: It's not a glitch. I believe they did this a while back to "speed up the site". If you get one answer, that should be enough to draw you back to the question. I believe that all ratings and comments appear on feedback, though. Use the date sort on answers to make sure they are in date order, and go from the top (or bottom) to make sure you've responded/rated all your answers. Works for me! LOL

• I don't know, but the feedback is not reliable. I recently visited an old question and found several additional answers I was never notified of. So, I visited another question and found the same. Now I feel like I have to go back and re-visit all my old questions. There must be a better way... +6

• I do that too...have the same problem, it would be nice if there was a notification other than clicking into your profile, as well as every update was renewed and not left back in the history..

• When I see that I have a new answer to a question, I automatically check the link that says, "READ ALL ANSWERS," to see if there are any that I might be missing.

• Yes, I do too. But I don't regularly go back and look to see if I have new answers to old questions unless I am notified, and the feedback notifications seem sporadic. Thanks! :-
