I say the bride gets to choose whatever color she wants for her dress, no matter what her virginity status is. Such private sexual matters are no one else's business.

If white is suposed to represent virginity, most brides should be wearing a deep shade of black, preferably with deep red accents. Champagne would be the colour for brides who have gone to first base. The fact is, white wedding dresses have not represented virginity for many decades. Now it just means that the bride has never been married before.

Yes I love that idea...

Well, we all know that in this day and age virgin brides are rare indeed, but there are quite a number of them. They have their own convictions, which I respect, and I don't think virginity at the time of marriage is as "ridiculous" as you make it out to be. That said, irrespective of the condition of her hymen on the wedding day, we (the guests) love to fantasize that the girl is now giving her most "precious gift" (as my mother used to put it) to the man of her heart. That said too, a new bride's (especially a first-time bride) appearance has a certain radiance at the wedding, which goes best with a white wedding dress (or sari in India) than one of any other colour. There's no hypocrisy. She just looks plain prettier and more "desirable" in white.
