Anyone who does not have issues with colorblindness should be able to. I know that it is a concern with many men for some reason. I have no problem with discerning colors, can remember the hue and match it from memory. I have done this as a cosmetologist and as an artist.

I could tell the different colors or shades, but the names aren't familiar to me.

I think things like that are a judgement call -- some people call X colour aqua, some call it teal, some call it blue-green. I could tell the colours apart, but I might not pick the "right" name.

I took a "test" once, I want to say it was 300 colors arranged in a few lines, and you had to put them in order -- each line was red to orange, orange to yellow, etc, and all these shades of very slight variation, and I got all of them in order.

Yes as long as there is what is called absolute lighting.( meaning no tones) For the most part is is distinguishable by seeing the under tones or threads in the swatch.

    Good luck

I have had my colour vision tested, and it is perfect. But I find that I disagree with friends about what a particular colour should be called. A colour that I would call turquoise I have heard described as green (to me, turquoise is nearer blue), and people have said a colour was pink when I would have described it as mauve or even violet.

I don't know whether we see them differently, or whether we differ in the descriptions.
