In the state of Kentucky (which I assume this question is about), any of the follwing are considered a deadly weapon: a weapon of mass destruction, any weapon from which a shot, readily capable of producing death or serious physical injury, may be discharged, a knife other than an ordinary pocket knife, a billy club, nightstick, or club, a blackjack or slapjack, nunchaku karate sticks, Shuriken or death stars, and artificial knuckles made from metal, plastic or similar hard material.

Other states may have subtle differences and/or add/subtract from this list, it is totally up to each state legislature.
