  • OK.. I am a nurse.. However I have to be the deliverer of bad news.. It's simply not that simple. What your dr. said is correct, too high and there is usually infection, too low is bad because you become prone to infection. The only way to combat this if there is no underlying condition is to eat well, plenty of vegetables, maitain hygiene and get plenty of sleep. Also try to avoid alcohol, cigarettes and overworking yourself. Unfortunately this is how it goes.. to increase general blood cell growth eat foods rich in iron.
