Tubal ligation is considered a permanent form of birth control. The fallopian tubes are not "tied," but are actually banded, cut, or cauterized. In less than 2% of women the tubes can recanalize and grow a new pathway, or can actually grow back together along the original pathway. There is also a possibility that your surgery was not done correctly.
