They were tied with a material that has deteriorated.
Tubal ligation is considered a permanent form of birth control. The fallopian tubes are not "tied," but are actually banded, cut, or cauterized. In less than 2% of women the tubes can recanalize and grow a new pathway, or can actually grow back together along the original pathway. There is also a possibility that your surgery was not done correctly.

Did anyone have a bad experience with the Essure procedure? During the procedure the Dr. said I had a spasm in my tubes. It has been very painful since with back and abdominal pain, headaches. The Dr. never mentioned this many problems.

For a doctor to refuse to do a tubal ligation on a young woman (18-35) because she might change her mind the same sort of offence as a doctor refusing to do an abortion on a young woman, also because she may regret it in the future?

I am 26 years old I would like a tubal ligation. However, doctors refuse to do it because of my age. Does anyone know of a doctor that will do the procedure on someone who is young, does not have children, and is certain she will never want children?
