The job I had before I retired was the easiest job I ever had in terms of commute and length of hours spent there. I live 3 miles (no freeway travel) from my former job and would get there about 7:30 a.m. and usually be ready to leave about 5:30p.m. :)

on average, with commute, about 10-14 hours a day.. around 60-75 hours a week.

Let's see.....about 9 hours, 45 minutes? 9 1/2 of that is spent at work, and the other 15 minutes is my commute :) I love living 1/2 mile from my office.

It was approximately an 11 hour day at my previous employer that laid me off permanently.

I own part of a consulting firm, so my hours reflect my own choices. When I travel I usually work on the plane, all day long, and into the night. If I go to social events, is it usually related to my work. These days I normally work 10-11 hours a day and live with friends near the city where three of my client organizations are located. The commute takes one hour, so my day is 12-13 hours long and I am still not home. I work several hours each weekend, sometimes on the road. Yeah, this sounds awful, but I am sure lots of new business owners work like this for a while. I enjoy it, and we are able to hire more workers so our lives are not so crazy. I'm definitely happy (although I have no love life), so nobody should feel sorry for me.

Well, I'm a student and part-time employee. So it varies from day to day. MWF I am gone from 8am-5:30pm (roughly) so about 9.5 hours TR I am gone from 7:30am-10:30pm (again, roughly) so about 15 hours.
