  • A is to B as B is to C. no wait that is something else. A sq plus b sq is = to c sq
  • Draw a unit circle whose center is the origin of the x-y plane. The x-axis is horizontal w/ positive toward the right; the y-axis is vertical w/ positive toward the top. Now pick any point on the unit circle. The line segment from this point to the origin is a radius of the cirlce, at some angle to the x-axis. The vertical distance from the point to the x-axis ranges from +1 to -1, and equals the sine of the angle. The horizontal distance from the point to the y-axis also ranges from +1 to -1, and equals the cosine. When you DRAW A DIAGRAM you make a right triangle whose hypotenuse is a radius of the unit circle, with one of the legs along an axis. Since sin & cos are actually ratios, you have to remember to multiply by the hypotenuse (scale it up or down) if it's different from 1. Given a right triangle whose horizontal leg forms an angle theta with the hypotenuse: Sine(theta) = ratio of vertical leg to hypotenuse. Cosine(theta) = ratio of horizontal leg to hypotenuse. Also Tangent = Sin / Cos Wikipedia is quite reliable for way more info.
  • check out these articles for a simple tool and tutorial that will make trig simple enough for ANYBODY to do! http://www.ehow.com/how_5428511_pass-part-ii-unknown-angles.html http://www.ehow.com/how_5227490_pass-mind-part-unknown-sides.html
  • there's at least one in every high school that gets paid to do EXACTLY that ...
  • Here you go hun. All I remember about trigonometry is that it was a huge pain in the neck. Maybe this will help. http://www.themathpage.com/aTrig/trigonometry-of-right-triangles.htm
  • Billy! Thought you were dead, man.
  • Aww no trigonometry was my worst nightmare and enemy in high school.
