If they can find it, yes.

You sold the car without a title which you would not have gotten until it was paid off. It's fraud and yes they can take the car when they find it because legally you had no business selling it.

First: You have comitted a CRIMINAL Act by selling something that was NOT yours to sell . Until you PAID for the car; you do NOT have a LEGAL right to sell it .... and CAN end up going to JAIL / PRISON for about 3 - 5 YEARS .... YES; the bank can and probably will repo the vehicle and the buyer will probably sue you and file criminal charges against you as will the bank ... You need to get this mess straightened out ASAP before you are behind bars ... +5

That was a real stupid move. On both your parts. The buyer should have done a lien search. But, yeah, the bank will take it when they find it and just hope the guy doesn't break your legs when he comes to collect his money.

So is this what you are planning on doing to promt this type of question!? Screw the bank? If you were an honest person this would not even be a question, This isn't about not knowing, this is about dishonesty, you sold a car without a title, and now that the car is gone you want to know if you can not make payments to the bank.. "safely"??? Come on!!! How else is the bank suppose to get their money?? I can read between the lines, There is no way you thought because you didn't own the car you didn't have to pay on it any more. I know times are tough, they are for EVERYONE! This is just wrong and I hope you will do the right thing and get this straightened out. You are not just screwing the bank over, or the new owner you are screwing everyone over! At least continue to make the payments until you can get the title if you cannot get this straightened out. Step up and do the right thing.
