Help answer this question below.
Exactly, why should they? - If they've got a willing dumbed down & intellectually neutered populous robbed of critical thinking that will accept what ever they are told ( and defend it blindly), a stronghold over media to create necessary convincing enough illusions for people to believe, and an inbred and sociopathic tradition which requires a lack of empathy for holding their position...there's no reason they should nor should they need to.
Name some things that are good for the earth that wouldn't exist if humanity never existed.

You're reading Why should politians always tell the truth?
Comments
Simply true why should they, and what you mention is certainly true especially in the political arena. Though ethically, and morally we vote a politian in on policies we believe he will or the party will follow through with. Veracity is something they should abide to, the public have a right to the truth no matter what the consequences are because we should not be denied the ethic of response. We then in the public can make informed decisions but if denied the truth our choices are being decided for us which may be unethical.

We cannot ultimately blame those in politics for our demise - for they are only a reflection of our own allowances to manifest. We voted them in, we put faith in a system which was inherently flawed, we allowed ourselves to be gang-raped for millenia by this mentality - and we still do in many respects.
If we are looking for a place to direct our expectations in who should do what, we need only look in the mirror.
We need no right to see the truth anymore than giving ourselves permission to find it, even if 6 billion of our fellow species are telling us different.
As Ghandi said - the truth is still the truth, even when there is a minority of one.
Its time to take responsibility. Yep - acknowledge the skull duggery and ignorance that has got us here, but ultimately to dissasociate ourselves from what we find ugly, and imagineer a more beautiful reality in spite of the tyrants.
