  • homemade pasta like any other homemade food, is the taste of familiarity or home since if you make something homeamde, you normally use a family recipy. So naturally, it will taste better to you because it is familiar. as for cost savings forget it. my familly makes homemade pasta often, and I can tell you it is expensive by far, not only that but time consumming. the water you waste washing all the excesive dishes afterword is not worth it. it might be every once and while but not often. its good as a treat though :)
  • I don't find it to be better -- usually thicker and gummier
  • It's fresher, but there's more work involved to make it at home.:)
  • Fresh pasta tastes very different from dried pasta. I prefer it but I can see that not everyone would. Dry pasta is pretty cheap so there would not be much savings there, but fresh pasta is a lot more expensive and relatively heavier because of the water content. It might well be worth making it as opposed to buying fresh pasta
  • I personally don't find much difference in the taste or texture. With regard to cost savings, first you would have to recoup the cost of the pasta machine, then factor in the cost of the ingredients and your time. All things considered, store-bought works for me just fine! :)
  • I don't find it that way... It is much more economical to buy it also. Besides, if store bought dry pasta is good enough for the Italians, then store bought fresh (which I rarely splash out on) and dry pasta is good enough for us! =)
  • Store-made meals always taste better than home-mades but the home-made foods are (most of the time) cheaper and as the they say it's also healthier.
  • It just seems like so much work for something that relies on sauces or flavorings.
