no i sure don't. i die, rot in the ground. that's it. & who said i didn't believe in Jesus. i think he was real, just not some divine deity on earth. & i believe in things i can't physically see. like the wind & bacteria. so you need to rephrase your question & not be so critical. athiests aren't hurting you; chill out & just enjoy your beliefs & whatever you think happens to athiests in the afterlife.
-
You do not have to physically see something to believe in it - logic and reason can tell you what is worth believing. How can you feel any emotion when you are dead? I would suggest YOU think about it but you seem to lack the wherewithal.
-
I don't look forward to dying but it's kinda inevitable no matter what you believe. I don't believe in any deities because no evidence points to their existence, but I believe in things I cannot see, as long as they can either be detected by some other means, or else have left evidence of their existence. Of course, even if you believe in a god, you can't be 100% sure that it's the right god. nor that what this god wants from you is your belief, so Pascal loses his wager.
-
Air exists, but we cant see it and without it we'd die. I'm not afraid of whats after death.

WOW, this question is just deliciously presumptuous; the kind I like to dissect: 1) "...just don't believe in anything you cannot physically see" >>> FALSE: We aren't living in an opaque bubble. Most atheists, like most educated people of any religious background, believe in many things which they cannot immediately see, such as bacterial lifeforms, black holes, the fact that there other countries beyond the visible horizon, etc. 2) "...believe everything just happened" >>> FALSE: In fact, it is the religious who believe everything 'just happened because God willed it'. Atheists, by contrast, typically believe that the universe is the product of many complex physical and chemical reactions, which were anything but simple. 3) "Invisable [sic] fairytale God and his son" >>> You are showing your Christian-bias. Atheism is a refusal to accept all unproven religious dogma, not just Christian dogma specifically. 4) "You then die; do you have fear???" >>> You don't know the answer to this, and neither do we; but at least, we don't presume to. By all physical appearences, the answer would actually be "No - Emotions cease to exist following physical death". I don't know if there could possibly be some continuation of emotions after this point...but so far, the evidence is on the negatory side.
-
are you stupid or what. do you have any idea what athiest is??? its a BELIEF that there is no deities. they still have BELIEFS. i think your talking about something you have no idea about. whether your scared or just plain clueless i think you need to know what your talking about before you talk
-
Wrong. I'm willing to accept any verifiable evidence that seems to indicate the presence of 'invisibles'. X-rays are something I cannot see, yet I've seen verifiable evidence of such. What machine do I use to detect your Fairy Tale God? If I'm dead, I am incapable of any kind of emotion. And yes, obviously I thought of this. At least one of us has.
-
No, no fear, just eternal rest.
-
Nope. Just nothingness. Just like before I was born.
-
ROFL! I'll wait till I'm dead to answer that question And, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO, I don't expect you to get the joke either...
-
If your dead you can't fear.
-
What is the point in fearing death. Once it happens, thats it! The only thing to fear is how you die.
-
Logically what is there to fear? Personally I find this kind of nameless fear based attack to be reprehensible. Consider yourself reprehensed.
-
You are very presumptuous. You should know now that people don't generally take kindly to someone stepping in and telling them what they supposedly believe. You have decided to tell me what I believe, and you are wrong. After I am dead, I wont be fearful. I'll be dead, so I presume it shall be as it was before I was born.
-
OMG, you're right! I do have fear of death. No problem. I choose reincarnation. One religion is as good as the next.
-
Fear of what, exactly? Fear that I might die before seeing my kids' kids? Or that I might want to live a bit longer? Or that death might hurt? Sure, sometimes. But mostly I don't think about it. Fear that there might be some god bend on retribution because I didn't kneel before him? Nope.
-
What is your point? Are you saying that religious people aren't as afraid of death? Everyone is afraid of death, just in varying degrees.
-
This is an issue I've considered many times & the conclusion I've come to is that I'm not afraid of being dead. As you say, in my perspective I wont even be aware of that fact. That doesn't mean I'm not concerned over how I might die tho.
-
Of course, everyone has fear. I don't like crowds. Don't see what that has to do with atheism, though.
-
Thanks for telling me what I believe in.
-
well.. i would definately have fear!!! see im just confused about my religion, i think im "agnostic' im not christian or catholic because me both christian and catholic faimily belive that if youre gay or bicurious youll go to hell... truthfuly.. im confused there too =.= and i think its wrong if youre born that way to be critizcised by our "creator" for something we cant controol or change... i wanna belive thers something else, some reason but im just not sure what... that thought.. of not being sure scares me... so if i was just an atheist.. yea i would be reeeally ascard!

I have no fear when I die, if there is a god I would want to spend an eternity with it isn't a god that would judge my life based on weather or not I believed in it, but the whole of my life. Why should I fear, I do not get the point of portraying your god is some terrifying monster who would cast us into the pit of hell because we failed to suspend disbelief in book that reads like an infinitely more twisted and sadistic version of Grimms Fairy tales, or the diety(s) portrayed in it. I wouldn't like to spend eternity with that guy thanks, actually that would be my idea of hell, to spend an eternity with something that values worthless belief over worthwhile action, someone with so much ego that he demands worship to get into its good graces.
-
No fear after death.
-
I am an atheist, but I beleive in many things I cannot see (microbes, for instance). - I have absolutely no belief in a "fairytale god and his son," as you so eloquently put it. - I have no fear of death. I didn't exist from the beginning of time until my life began, why should my non-existence after my death bother me. - I had thought about it long before your question was posed.
-
How can an Atheist fear anything after they died? Whatever happens after that is really out of their control no matter what an Atheist or non-Atheist believes. Besides, some other religions in the world may think Christians are not going to heaven because Christians chose the wrong religion. And they think they are right due to their beliefs. How can you argue one belief is more correct than another belief? There's no way to compare that as opposed to arguing facts vs facts. Think about it.
