  • YES!!! The meat is fine...BUT DO NOT GIVE YOUR DOG CHICKEN BONES!!! The bones of any bird are hollow to give the bird less weight to make flight easier. Hollow chicken bones will shatter when a dog chews on them and then they get sharp edges. I have seen the aftermath of dogs that have eaten chicken bones and died from it.
  • Cooked chicken is perfectly fine for dogs, In fact, when my dog was sick, the vet had us boil chicken and add some cooked rice and a variety of cooked veggies till he got better,
  • As mentioned ALL cooked bones are dangerous. Cooking or heat treating bones (such as the ones they SELL you at assorted pet stores) become brittle when exposed to high heats. Then they can shatter during the mashing process and produce sharp splinters that can cause problems. RAW BONES are a healthy part of a Species Appropriate Diet for dogs, cats and even ferrets! Most raw feeders START with a chicken breast, bone in, because it is the softest bone of all! The cooked chicken (without bone) won't hurt your dog. However, you've cooked out about half of the nutritional value that the dog would have benefited from, if you just left it raw. Dogs stomach acid is 10 times stronger than ours. They don't have issues with salmonella, WE do, which is why they recall pet foods discovered to be tainted with salmonella. The pet food manufacturers are afraid of US touching the food and not bothering to wash our hands...after all...it's just dry pet food! Our dogs and cats have been on Raw Meats 80%, bone 10% and organs 10% for over a year with outstanding results and surprisingly a lower feed bill...(God Bless Freecycle members who give me meats...and our local hunters too!) Old bill monthly was $70 to $125 for 2 dogs and 4 cats with cat litter. NOW it's more like $35 to $65 a month with litter! Love that! Digestively, Dogs are Wolves! There are no kibble trees in nature and there are no little Elves or Fairies standing at a stove cooking up meats, yams or other veggies or grains for dinner....they eat meat, bones and organs. • If your dog is to eat chicken..its best to boil it..NEVER give the dog chicken bones and skin is not recommened either..chicken bones can not only choke a dog they can cause serious stomach/digestive problems..ask any vet :D
  • I think cooked chicken is a good treat for a dog, but I wouldn't give it (or any other soft food) as a regular diet unless you are willing to brush their teeth daily.
  • Only the BONES are bad for them! Never. . . .EVER!. . . .give your dogs chicken bones!
  • If there is bone in it, yes. Otherwise, no.
  • No. Just cook it till all the pink is gone, just like you do for people.
  • Chicken, cooked or raw, is fine for dogs.
