So why hasn't AB made it available to delete your account completly such as questions, answers, comments, friends, etc...? Will there ever be that option for those who decide to leave it?

    Mimi..smiling...there is no Option Two..

I've just discovered we can no longer delete from our Friends list - well OK, the answers etc may be the property of AB, and I get the hoo-ha that would be caused if they were wiped, but WE chose who we wanted to accept or not as friends, surely we should be allowed to delete them if we want to?
What about all the people who leave? Why should we have a load of Anonymous avatars cluttering up our lists? eh? eh??
I've just been through my 'collection' of Anons and half of them I don't recognise because they've deleted their info, so I can't even say, "Oh, that used to be so-and-so".
    BOOO-HISS!!! =þ thhhttpppphht!! lol ;)

    Two reasons:

    1. All material posted on AB becomes the property of AB. See the Terms of Use, paragraphs 4 and 5.

    2. With the interactions between numerous other members through the posted questions, answers, and comments, deleting an entire account and all the material in it may make so many breaks in the existing data infrastructure as to cause serious problems with all the other linked questions, answers, and comments by other users. This could cause other problems affecting site usabilty.

If you wish to leave, and no longer be associated by your screen name, then simply change your screen name to "Anonymous", your avatar to the default anonymous avatar, and simply don't come back.

If there is something specific which you wish to have removed, then contact AB via email, or ask a CL to intercede for you to get a resolution to the specific issue.

No, not to delete your questions. If you did that, it would also delete all the answers that others took the trouble to post.

Not sure. I think it has to do with them not wanting the questions and the answers to them to completely disappear, as they may still be helpful or even valuable to other users.

Ahem. You don't own your answers and questions so you have no right to delete them. They become the property of Answerbag.
