    It depends in which area and I suppose it depends where you live.
    In Australia, it is very competitive if you want to get into a public accounting firm, but if you want to work as a financial controller in a private organisation, or even the Government, it is not that hard to get in if your references are good.

    In my opinion, no. At least not in my city which is average size (70,000 people?). Jobs are very easy to find here and the list of clients is long.
