in younger days roughing it but now i have to admit hotel and bathroom
I like both, depending on who I'm with and where I'm at. I've roughed it from desert to mountains to seaside and enjoyed it immensely. At the same time, there is definitely something to be said for cushy accomodations; particularly as I get older. ;)
Yep! I love backpacking!
Camping all the way. I got my Eagle Scout and spent time in the Marines. There are few things in the world greater than taking my dog, tent, a couple changes of clothes and a cooler of food to cook on the fire and going out into the woods. I live far enough away from "City" life that I can get into the middle of nowhere in about 20 minutes. Next time I go, you guys should all come along. It's great fun.
I like both... I love 5 star spa hotels and sunbathing on a private beach, but I also love camping in a tent, heating baked beans over a gas stove, and am quite fine with peeing in the bush!
Both are fun, but different moods, different company and different kinds of holidays call for different accomodation.
Do not like the whole backpacking thing. I do think tent camping is fun but I want a clean water source.
I'm definitely a "hotel" kinda person . . . but I could "rough it" for a day or two but then want my shower and bed.
"Yes" I've done some motorcycle tent camping. No backpacking though.

hotels and bathrooms. +5
i prefer backpacks & tents in the great outdoors along with some boating and fishing
I like camping BUT I won't call it "roughing it" bc the camp site MUST have a bath house. I refuse to go to the bathroom in bushes. I ain't gettin no ticks on my ass.
More likely I'd pick a hotel though bc it's more convenient. I don't have to pack up as much.
I used to like camping and hostelling. Now I am older and like my creature comforts.
hotels and bathrooms all the way. why would I want to go backwards?
I think I like both
Keith Phillips of Garden Drive in Niskayuna was another adventurer, but he preferred his action on land. During the spring and summer of 1974, he backpacked through South and Central America. He brought back souvenirs and stories from his trip.
"People won't stop for you on the highway," he told Schenectady Gazette reporter Bill Anderson about hitch hiking problems in South America. "The only way to get a ride is to catch a truck at a gas station."
Phillips also said he decided to eat only native foods during his long walks. That meant a diet of fried hornets in Guatemala, guinea pigs in Equador, armadillos in Bolivia and frog steaks and snakes in other places.
The teen's diet changed in September, when he began his freshman year at the University of Pennsylvania
