I have 2 parakeets. I want to start feeding them people food. Can I feed them tomatoes? And, when I give them People food, should I put it on a paper towel in the bottom of their cage, or put it in a feeding dish, attached to the side of their cage?

I don't think they need people food.
Give them your usual bird feed.
They aren't like cats or dogs. They're stomachs are much more sensitive.
Be on the safe side.

Please don't put it in the bottom of their cage. It has poop in it, and is unclean. If you want to appeal to their hunt and peck desires, feed them on a table (NOT on carpet! The fibers get caught up in the intestinal tract and kill them).

Keep food in a clean food dish, and remove it when they're finished. +5
