Help answer this question below.
There are 735 comments now and they are all on that page. The first dated Aug 6, 2009 (at the bottom) and the latest dated Nov 20, 2009 (at the top).
The scroll bar thingy on the right of the page is very small and indicates the page is very long. The scroll bar thingy on this page is large because the page is short.
The scroll bar thingy is the bar that you click and drag up and down to scroll up and down the page. I'm not sure what it is actually called.
It is me the asker. I forgot to include it in the question.
This is the page I am asking about. http://communities.canada.com/montrealgazette/blogs/soundoff/archive/2009/08/06/324064.aspx

You're reading Can you please show me how to read all the comments here? It doesn't have the numbers re. the pages, i.e at the bottom and or top "1,2,3,4, next". So is ther another way of finding all of the 535 or so comments?

Thank you Booknight. I want to print it all and read it when I commute, . I would like to save my computer time for doing things, not for reading. When I try to print it says it said that there is no document to print. The newspaper doesn't want it printed. Have you ever come accross that?
by abagy on November 21st, 2009
Ummm, I've never printed anything. I got a printer and paper for my birthday but I haven't hooked it up yet (my birthday is in April) The email link works...I tried it. Can you print an email ? If so then email it to yourself or a friend or co-worker and print it.
by Booknight on November 21st, 2009
Thanks Booknight.
Have you ever used a computer at library or any public place, if so, have you tried to do the email function, the solution you suggested?
by abagy on November 24th, 2009
If you use IE8 and have hotmail you can send it to yourself. I just tried it and it worked. It might work with whatever email service you have. On the toolbar is Page, Safety and Tools. Click on Page, click on Send page by email. I got an Internet Explorer Security alert box and clicked Allow. Your email will come on, on the To line type in your own email address and click send. You will get the email.
You can get a free email account from Yahoo or Google if this doesn't work. You can send emails from one account to another....I do it all the time.
I haven't tried to email from a public computer.
I would offer to email it to you but I won't put my email address on AB and won't ask you to. I just don't think it is safe or wise because AB is open to the public and I don't want my email address to be public knowledge.
by Booknight on November 24th, 2009
Of course Booknight, not at all wise/necessary to put email address in public view.
Thank you for the instruction. It is not possible to do that from the public library computer that I use. I thought maybe there is something new on that front. I will just try to copy and paste the url to my email account.
by abagy on November 25th, 2009
Did you ask the library computer tech for help printing the page ?
It says on the page that it can be printed. My library will copy pages off the Internet for 25 cents a page - it use to be 15 cents. You can copy the entire page and paste it to an email and leave it as a draft and not send it anywhere. I'm just throwing out suggestions to try and help you.....maybe one of them will work :)
by Booknight on November 25th, 2009
I didn't get an email account until I got my computer last year. If you get another email account (one you don't mind being public) and post it here, I will email the page to you. I don't mind YOU having my email address, I just don't want to make it public by putting it on AB.
by Booknight on November 25th, 2009
But I still don't know if you can print an email or not. So you should find that out first.
Happy Thanksgiving !
Sorry for so many comments but my mind is on about a dozen things this evening and is jumping from topic to topic :)
by Booknight on November 25th, 2009
Thanks Booknight but it is okay it is a not crucial thing. BTW, I got confused and I wrote of the "...url ..." above instead of "... the article ..."
I asked computer staff where it uses "firefox, re. select and print, re. another article", and it sounded like they said you can't select, you can only print the whole page. I must have misundertood .
Anyway Booknight, I will continue tomorrow.

Booknight, you gave me so much, thank you. I can't address everything today, but let me just ask you re. "It says on the page that it can be printed", are you talking about when you click the icon?
by abagy on November 27th, 2009
Eureka ! I may have found the solution. The article page has PRINT - when I clicked that I got a blue-gray page....no help. Then I clicked SHARE and got a drop down menu with these options : Email, Print, Digg, MySpace, Facebook, Twitter and another column of things that I didn't think would help. I clicked the Print option and a window opened that had an 'add printer' icon...because I don't have a printer. Your library does have a printer...so you may be able to print it from the SHARE icon near the top of the page. Or 'share' it to MySpace or Facebook if you have one of those and maybe print it from there. I hope my eureka is deserved :)
by Booknight on November 27th, 2009
Booknight, I thank you for that. I copied and pasted it to my email, I can print it from there as you suggested in your previous posting. The library printer gives me "no document", which the library people find it bizarre. I found out what happens when you click on "Print", bluegrey page must be some gremlin in the library's computer and your computer because I used another computer (internet cafe), no problem.
by abagy on December 1st, 2009
Wow, the library and I have the same gremlin....that makes me smile because I love the library. I visit my local library weekly :)
I'm glad you got it copied. Yea...we figured it out !

Yes!thanks Booknight.
There is a funny thing someone wrote with the heading "if cars were like computers" or something like that. I heard it on the radio have you heard it?
by abagy on December 5th, 2009
No, I haven't heard that. I'm going to try and find it. I like amusing stories about the computer....I feel so lost about so many things about the computer that I find myself laughing at myself often. Then I start over, learning something new :)
by Booknight on December 5th, 2009
My progress is worse than the speed of molasses.
by abagy on December 6th, 2009
At times it seems like that to me too. But I enjoy the learning :) I laugh at my mistakes and treasure my 'aha' moments when I understand something new. There is still so much more. My daughter works on a computer at her job....she calls me to ask questions about their home computer. I've talked her through several simple things....that made me feel good and proud of what I have learned.
by Booknight on December 6th, 2009
You like challenging yourself. Does your daughter use Firefox?
by abagy on December 9th, 2009
No, like me she uses Internet Explorer.
She wants to buy a new home computer but is waiting until her husband wants it too :)
I found the 'if cars were like computers' story. It was funny. I found it on a couple of sites. There were slight variations between the sites.....I don't know which was the original. But one was funnier - to me - then the other.
Would you like a link to them ?
