Have a beer.
When i get stressed i like to grab a nice hot cup of coffee and settle down with a good book.
let your eyes go into soft focus, and pay more attention to your peripheral vision - this automatically makes your body and nervous system relax more.
Also, breathe out twice as long as you breathe in. So e.g. breathe in for a count of 4, and out for a count of 8. This also automatically makes your body relax. Breathe like this for several minutes at a time.
I prefer listening to music. It always helps calm me down.
take a deep breath......and PUSH!!!!!
The user Waitaminute answered already extensively. My way is to open up the computer and communicate a little with friends - while I have a cup of very hot coffee....
a walk near nature... it always helps me..!
pack a big bowl of ganja and try to kill the pain of living or atleast forget about it for a few hours.
smoke a ciggarette while I drink a margarita.
I will do anything to distract me from whatever is stressing me out; read, watch a movie, surf the net, or listen to music.
take anxiety meds that I am prescribed, on a rare occasion.
or if its in the middle of the day, i go to the gym and lift weights or play basketball, or i go biking. if its at night, i turn on a good movie, crack open an ice cold beer, and relax.
I move around furniture.
masturbate

Back in the day, it was a gin & tonic & a smoke, but I had to give up at least one vice, so now it's a Tanqueray & Tonic. Works each & every time.
Breathe...and then I like to go somewhere quiet, outdoors.
A Yoga practice.
