Writer's Market - A book published every year with contact information on where/how to get published. Not sure of the publisher but if you google it I'm sure you can find it.
I'm just about in the same boat as you are!
But I do know two things...
1. Stick to Agents and Publishers who focus on YOUR TYPE
OF BOOK. Do not waste your time or theirs with ones
who do not handle your type of story, it only pisses
them off, and earns you a bad reputation as someone
who disregards the time of other people = circle file.
2. NEVER pay an Agent a signing on FEE! Only pay
commission when a Publishing advance or Royalities
are paid to YOU!
And our bonus feature...if you find a good one, be OPEN MINDED to changes they may suggest or insist upon you making...REMEMBER... your success is their success...if you make money, they make money...they want your book to be as successful as possible and are unlikely to push for changes unless they believe it will help the story to sell and be appreciated by readers! They aren't just trying to manipulate or hurt your feelings! They want your book to sell!
