In my professional life I try, albeit it sometimes slips.
In my personal life, I've all but abandoned trying to fit in. I can't tolerate a society that allows, accepts, and in some cases encourages stupidity on the level that humanity does.
Don't get me wrong, I don't hate everyone, and I have a great sense of humour; but just take some of the questions on this site as an example, not only in terms of content but ability to spell and form coherent thoughts.
The gene pool is getting freakishly shallow. I mean that both literally and metaphorically.

I think that I do fit in...in that I feel I'm a "productive member" who works to make the world/society better and to pull my own weight. I am hoping that I'm raising my children to do the same.
This is not to say that I blindly follow societies rules without questioning them. I think that those people who do are doing more harm than good.

When I'm here on the net, I tend to think little about Society. But when I'm not, I tend to think that I fit in with just the rest of all of us. We all tend to be this way, in some form or other, as most of us, have at least 1 I'net connected phone in some form on either their hip pocket, or attached permanently onto their hands and heads(for those wireless mics.)

Well.....yeah. Kind of. I tend to see things in ways that most don't, so I felt isolated at times, until I came to Answerbag. I've discovered here that it wasn't ME who was off the wall, but others who really didn't get what I was saying.
I try to be good to people, and I try to play nice. But it is doubtful that I will ever subscribe to what society deems normal. And I DIG that about me! +5
