  • Hi Viper, Most of the time on DLP sets replacing the lamp will resolve the issue, if you havent change the lamp in at least 2 yrs I will try doing that first before something else, make sure to buy a Philips lamp since this brand is the top of the line will last you around 6000-8000hrs when some other generic lamps last around 2000 to barely 3000 hrs, you shouldnt pay more then $125 for that lamp i found this one on ebay (you need the lamp 265866) http://cgi.ebay.com/265866-PHILIPS-LAMP-REPLACEMENT-FOR-RCA-TV_W0QQitemZ330332016804QQcmdZViewItemQQptZLH_DefaultDomain_0?hash=item4ce95290a4&_trksid=p4634.c0.m14.l1262#ht_2434wt_939 or from this site as well http://www.discount-merchant.com/RCA-HD44LPW164YX1-M1-Lamp-P-N-265866-p/rca-hd44lpw164yx1(m1)-265866.htm?Click=49915
  • Hi,do you hear clicking or like wanting to turn on? If you do it could be an issue with the ballast which is the board that powers the lamp.Do you hear buzzing, whirling or high pitch sounds? If you do it could be the color wheel. If you don't hear any of these sounds and tv is between 1-2 yrs most likely its the lamp. This is the one you will need: //www.discount-merchant.com/RCA-HD50LPW164YX2-Original-OEM-Lamp-P-N-265866-p/rca-hd50lpw164yx2-265866.htm?Click=48173
