Baptism isfree to anyone. Baptists and other christian faiths usually believe that you need to be of a certain age to understand that you are accepting Jesus as your savior. Other faiths such as Catholics believe in baptising as babies with the parents speaking for the child (the child later goes though confirmation-which basically means that the child agrees with having been baptised).

Yes. Christians often get baptised it is a usually thing. I am a christian and I was baptised along with every christian I personally know.

There are 3 kinds of baptisms mentioned in the Bible that I know of: 1. Baptism with the Holy Ghost: This happens when you get saved. You are sealed by the Holy Spirit into the body of Christ as soon as you accept Christ into your heart. Your body, at that moment, becomes the temple of the Holy Ghost. 2. Baptism with water: Probably the kind you are talking about, this will probably answer your question. When you become a born-again Christian, you are to be baptised; immersed in water,(See Acts 2:38) as an open profession of faith and following the Lord's commandment. 3. Baptism with fire;(Matthew 3:11) I believe this is talking about the lake of fire; the eternal punishment of those that reject Jesus as their Lord and Personal Saviour. I hope this helps. Thank you and God bless you!

Baptistim is the public confession of salvation, baptistim is not salvation it is only a public witness that you have recieved Jesus Christ as your savior. You can get baptisted as much as you want you can be baptisted till the fish know your social security number and your still not saved, and you don't have to get baptisted to go to heaven, but Christ does command us to be baptisted as a public confession of our acceptance of Him....it's really a personal conviction and again baptisim has NOTHING to do with being saved! ((this is what Baptist believe, not to be used as reference for another religion))

Only Christians get baptized. It's not a part of non-Christian religions.

For anyone who thinks Baptism does nothing. Please read John 3:5, 1 Peter 3 20-21, Acts 2:38, Acts 22:16, Mark 16:16, and many more. Study the early church and you will cease to be protestant. Thanks

Yes, christians are usually baptized, though baptism is a general term that describes two basic ways of baptizing, one by catholics and similar denominations, and one by more traditional ways, such as how Christ Himself was baptized by John the Baptist, with the baptists still adhering to the "dunking" tradition. Babies can be christened or sprinkled lightly in the catholic church, but baptists generally only baptize someone who is old enough to be saved (usually at least 4-5 years old), and has expressed to the church their desire to show everyone that they are saved and that they are not ashamed of Christ, their Savior. If you want the specific terminology, catholics christen and baptists prefer immersion. Christening is a light sprinkle on a baby, with it being more of a passive thing that the baby can't understand, but immersion is completely voluntary. In immersion, the person knows exactly what is going on and why, and this person is placed completely under water for a few seconds and brought up quickly by the pastor, with immersion being done exactly how john the baptist did it with Jesus Christ, with the exception of where, as the river jordan is nasty now.

The word “baptize” comes from the Greek ba·pti′zein, meaning “to dip, to plunge.” (A Greek-English Lexicon, by Liddell and Scott) Christian water baptism is an outward symbol that the one being baptized has made a complete, unreserved, and unconditional dedication through Jesus Christ to do the will of Jehovah God.

Yes, Christians get baptized. I was baptized (or christened) as an infant and then went through confirmation classes at age 12 in a Presbeterian church. When I was in my 20's, however, I realized that I was not saved and needed to accept Christ. - I accepted Christ and participated in a believers baptism by immersion. I think that the method of baptism is not important, but that the "believers" part is. You have to be old enough to understand that you are giving your life over to Christ. - The Bible teaches that we are to be baptized, so baptism itself is an act of obedience. It is an outward expression of the change that takes place in your heart when you accept Christ as your Savior. It is not the baptism that saves you, it is the Holy Spirit that does that. - my 2 cents...

It is a Christian directive to be baptised. Jesus commanded it in Matthew 28; Go into all the world and spread the gospel to all living people, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." There are various traditions within Christianity as to how and when baptism is done, but the meaning is the same: to die to sin and rise in Christ.

-
Anyone can get baptized. In fact christian doctrine strongly recommends that everyone get baptized.
-
It is not only possible, it is encouraged. Then again, Christianists shouldn't be baptised. You have to be real and sincere and not whimsical.

There's no such thing as an unbaptized Christian. The Bible's pretty clear: 1) You hear, 2) you believe, 3) you repent, 4) you get baptized as soon as possible. The only unbaptized Christians are those that get killed between 3 & 4 on their way to the baptismal, or who are prevented from it by such things as being locked up in prison. Now, do you mean RE-baptized? That's kind of pointless (once you're married, you're married; once you've been sworn into the army, you're in the army). It is actually a heresy if you believe rebaptism to be necessary, and teach it to/require it of others.
