  • with a wrench run the car for a few minuites unscrew the drain plug let all the oil drain take an oil filter wrench and remove the oil filter clean the seal and put new oil on the rubber of the filter DO NOT TIGHTEN THE OIL FILTER WITH A WRENCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hand tight only, or you won't ever get it off again replace the plug and fill with oil start the engine while watching the oil gauge, or looking for a warnign light on the dash if the gauge doesn't go up in 10 seconds shut the engine off and look for the leak
  • In truth, the oil filter is located under the black plastic cover on top of the motor. It is all the way in the back, next to the firewall, and is a filter ELEMENT, not a regular screw-on filter. You have to unscrew the plastic cap and remove the element, then replace and screw it back down. The rest is pretty much the same. The oil pan is directly below the motor. Just take out the drain plug, drain oil, replace plug, and fill with manufacturer's recommended capacity.
