    I am sure that some accountants do live a high quality of life. I am sure there are others who don't.

    I grew up in a middle class neighborhood. One of my friend's father was an accountant. The guy never had any money.

    Nowadays their are very few careers that have any kind of long term security or allow a person to make good money.

    It depending on what accounting field you are in. Public accountants have a very tough time in busy season due to the amount of hours that are put in.
