Running away in the opposite direction. Now I know your think "You crazy man" but I can tell you that running in the opposite direction creates a distance between the cops and robber. One problem that arises from this is what I like to call "The Chase". Cops are trained to "Chase" after the robber but there is a method of reverse psychology that will get them running in the opposite direction. Run towards them like you are the one chasing them and surprisingly they run away as if they are being chased. That is then your cue to run away.

If I stood outside the 7-11 with a 32oz diet coke and a bag of BBq chips and my thumb pointed north, that would be a bad getaway from a robbery, right?
