My 2001 Corolla dash lights are down to one on the far left. They went out one at a time but periodically came back on suggesting a connection problem? The garage wants $190 to replace by $10 per bulb. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem, sort of...

On our chrysler intrepid (2000) the tach left light went out periodically. But, it would come back on again. This went on for 2 months or so until finally it just stopped working. I know how it is - a $2 bulb, but $90 in labour. You need to make a decision - is it so bad right now that you can't see your guages at night? If so, then you don't have a choice. If you are pulled over that is what's known as equipment violation and could result in a ticket or warning to repair the problem. If there are, for example, two lights on the problem guage(s) (like mine) then it's not a big problem. However, you may want to take it into Toyota, and ask why all of these bulbs are burning out in a chain-reaction. If you press the point a bit they may offer to fix it for free or a discount rate.

    Good luck,
    Hope this helps
