You're reading I have 2001 Expedition, 4.6L, 2WD. It started spurtering and surging a little. Changed out spark plugs, and that seemed to make it worse. I will change out fuel filter today to see if that helps. Thanks!

I wonder what the possibilities are that the PCM needs to be reset? Today I am going to recheck the plugs and boots again. May have time to get to the fuel filter before it rains. If it's still acting up, I'll try the PCM reset since it's pretty easy. But I agree that it really could be the fuel pump. I have had this happen before, in yet another Ford we owned, for some reason. Thanks for the input.

Yeah no problem, my cousin is a Ford technician and very quickly figured it out. Hope it's the PCM! Good luck!
