We singers are tense creatures... I feel your pain. If you're experiencing body tension when you sing, I would recommend using "The Alexander Technique" (you can google it) it's basically just a series of relaxation exercises that you can use prior to rehearsals, performances or practice that helps to alleviate body tension and prepare your body for singing in a healthy way.
If your tension is emotional, I would just recommend trying to clear your mind and enjoy what you're doing. The ability to sing is definitely one of God's greatest gifts... it has stress relieving capabilities... and it's just plain fun. So, don't stress out about it... just enjoy yourself.. and the rest will take care of itself! :)

I have a deep speaking voice and i tend to mumble. It really annoys me when my friends get confused because they dont understand me.
