You're reading Alabama law,Pet owners can now have their dogs and cats vaccinated every three years rather than every year. Is this true? My mothers dog who I was about to take to the vet for a different issue hasn't had one in 2 years.

I've always taken my dog yearly but I heard a rumor about the three year shot. It made me mad when she told me she forgot to take him for his last shot and now she thinks she'll be in trouble. He was going to the vet because he broke loose from his cable and wondered in the neighboor's yard and their dog bit him, their dog IS vaccinated by the way! I'm just going to tell the vet he's due for a rabies shot. Good to know though because I have a new puppy who is going in for her shots this week.

Be sure to ask the vet specifically because not all vets use the same vaccinaions - some still opt for annual shots.
