That there is still innocence in the world, not everything is so gloom and doom, and there is beauty in the world in the most unlikely of places. Look at things through a child's eyes once in a while and you begin to appreciate the beauty and wonder around you.

Children not only teach their parents, but all adults that take the time to soak up the message they send off. Young children don't hate anyone, they are quick to make friends and do so in a matter of minutes, they also aren't biased or judgmental and don't care about a person's looks or background. If only adults could do those things....

So much that you can't imagine it. Having kids makes you examine everything you thought you believed, because suddenly it matters. They teach you strength, patience, fortitude, courage, love, and caring beyond what you thought possible. You learn that you were capable of things you thought you couldn't do. You pick up new knowledge constantly, because they are constantly asking questions you don't know the answer to and sending you running for the encyclopedia or looking things up online. More than anything, you become an expert in your child. As I always say to her doctors, you are the expert in medicine, but I am the expert in my child.
