It all depends, he probably paid because HE wanted the divorce not her. It depends also on financial status on both your parts. When I met my husband he was divorced and SHE had to pay for her own attorney because SHE wanted the divorce and SHE was the one who cheated on him, so the judge made her pay for her own since she was asking for attorney fees and all. The judge has alot to do with it too. You might want to ask your attorney.
