Does being evil mean you have to be cruel, mean and spiteful? Or can someone evil be the nicest guy around but still be evil by nature?

I always defined evil as a willingness to harm other humans the whole hunting your own breed thing. but then I was raised in civilization by the same animals who use eachother for personal gratifacation at every turn so the question is how does one grade anothers evil isnt it? because every act of evil is defined as human nature and acts of comasion as something higher, am I wrong?

Oh I think most of evil men are crule because evil means that they harm others to get what they want .Let me say to you something no one is evil by nature even if he brought up in an evil enviroment ....... learn from it. He can change his way he is free to choose to be a good or bad person BUT about the nicest guy around that can be in one case if that evil man has a previous bad experience and he couldn't come over it but someone changed him so his best side appears and can be nice .......good....gentel as the person who helped him made him came over his bad past.;D.
